cats in pusher

Chanelle loved pushing our two cats around in my pusher that i had when i was a little girl.

This was back in Australia, unfortunately we had to leave them behind with my parents to look after but thats okay as they are spoilt rotten.

funny thing is the cats loved being in the pusher.

Chanelle and daddy doing craft

Monday night 25.8.08

Usually its myself doing craft with the kids but chanelle my three year old wanted her dad to do it this time, they were doing a dora sand art then he had the job of vacuming up the sand that was on the floor, but they had fun.

granby Zoo

Sunday was a wonderfull day spent at Granby Zoo, we had a look at the animals and they have a fantastic waterpark in the zoo. The kids spent a lot of time in the big wave pool, and afterwards

we went on the lazy river ride which was so relaxing just sitting in a tube drifting with the water flow. Our drive home took longer than expected as there was a traffic jam but we finally made it.

We went into the bird cage and feed the birds nectar but making sure at all times we werent in their firing lane when they decide to wee as this happened to us at niagara falls bird aviary.

Up early monday morning around 5.15am and met kristyn at the recreation centre to register our younger kids in abc pre kindy as they started regestrations at 7.30am.

day at the beach more photos

Photo. 1 I just love this photo of my youngest daughter, she was in fits of laughter after she was spinning her little friend around on the swings.

Photo .2 Is of Michelle and one of her daughters, Michelle didnt know i was taking this one and it turned out so natural.

Photo .3 My son had just thrown a frisbee and the wind caught it and it ended up at the very top of this huge tree, which is were it stayed.

Photo.4 I think the beach was called St Zotique, here is a photo of it .

Photo.5 This is one of the rocks the girls found, they liked it because of the markings on it.

Day at the beach

On Tuesday Michelle, kristyn and myself and all our children went to the beach, It was a bit overcast at first but turned out to be a lovely day. I think i was worse than the kids when it came to the wasps. Some of the children collected rocks and shells and the younger ones just played in the sand, and some of the girls pretended to be mud people. They also had a playground which the children played on before we hit the road, when i showed my husband the photos he said how much stuff did yous take? I replied well you know us mums we take everything except the kitchen sink. Above are some photos of our day.

A night out

Wednesday was not a good day, children constantly bickering at each other and whining and argueing which i know that they are bored and miss their friends and family back home.

I am feeling guilty for making them leave Australia and wondering whether we made the right decision. As i sat outside i was wishing i was back homewith my family as i miss them very much.

It is thursday today and we caught the train into town with Michelle and her girls and another family to show the children the underground shopping mall. Boy you have to be quick getting of the train as the doors were closing and only half of us were off so Michelle stopped the door so the rest of us could get off. The children were very good today which i was very gratefull for.

Thanks to my lovely friend Michelle for baby sitting our children, my husband and myself were able to go out for tea and have some quality time together. Michelle also helped my daughter make lovely bracelet for me. Thankyou very much Michelle for tonight.

A perfect end to a perfect day.

I have put a picture of the bracelet in this post.

botanical gardens

Once again our family wasnt organized enough to go for a long drive so we ended up at another shopping mall on saturday, but it was a lovely mall anyway. Saturday night we went bowling with the children and husband won again but the whole family had a lot of fun.

Sunday was a trip to the botanical gardens which turned out a lovely day, no rain untill on our way home. I loved the chinese gardens the best but it was a relaxing afternoon.

The kids loved trying to feed the squirrels and we got some great photos

There was also a wedding and my three year old asked us "why is that lady dressed as a princess" we all told her she will look like that oneday and she had the biggest smile.

fun in the sun

This was the last week that we had a couple of sunny days, so my 31/2 year old wanted to fill her pool so they could cool down, but she had more fun trying to wet her brother.

It was nice sitting outside watching them have fun, it has rained nearly everyday since what a pity.My son also decided he would do something silly as well, dont you just love the drawings he did.

SIX MONTHS LATER

It is now six months after we first arrived in Montreal and we have been to see Old Quebec city,

Old MOntreal, Plattsburgh, Burlington. The children are now on summer vacation and we have been to some parks with our friends Michelle and her two beautifull girls and took the children to see a couple of movies Wall E and Journey to the centre of the earth which i enjoyed them as much as the kids did. Mission Accomplished for myself and my husband,we both passed our Quebec driving test. We went for a weeks holiday to Toronto and Niagra Falls which the Falls were absoloutely magnificent and there is so much to do there. We actually came home for a holiday as we were so exhausted. I think kids will be glad to get back to school to see some of their other friends.

Photos above are of Bird Kingdom Niagra, Waterpark at toronto Zoo, Niagra Falls.

Making new friends

Well children have finally started school and have made new friends but still missing old friends.

We have also found permanent houseing which is a lot better as we have more room and they can now play outside and stop niggling at each other.

I have also become friends with my childrens friends parents which has been wonderfull.

We have joined them up to do ice skating , even my 3 year old is learning as well, she looks so tiny out there on the ice. The childrens school had their curricilium fair and all the work at the fair was fantastic. My son had to do a poster on a famous poet so he picked an Australian poet ,

it was a lovely poster.

Driving in Montreal

My next lesson was learning to drive in Montreal as back in Australia we drive opposite side of car and road. It was a bit scary for myself driving in snow as this was a first time. I found that the car i purchased was a great car for this. I only had one bad experience of being bogged and i'm glad that was in our driveway. It didn't take long to find my way around to the shops.
